The guidelines below are CRUCIAL to follow when burning candles with a wood wick. Wood wicks require a little more tending to than your usual cotton or hemp wick candles.

-Always allow the melted wax pool to reach the outer edge of the container.

-Do not move your candle while it is burning.

-Pinch or trim off the dead wick before trying to relight your candle. If there is still too much burnt wick still intact while trying to relight your candle, your candle will not light properly or relight at all. You must remove the ash so the wood can catch a proper flame. Not removing burnt wick can also sometimes cause your candle to produce soot.
